Based on gross revenue over the two-year period from 2012 to 2014, The Fast Growth 150 list ranks solution providers based in North America with significant economic growth. Cisco ASA 5500 Series End of Life
Posted on 9/14/2015 1:57:01 PM by Dan Mason

You know that as an IT company we feel strongly about security. Part of creating a culture of security is having the tools to do so. Like many tools in technology, hardware and software reaches "End of Support", which means there will be no more updates or patches for this particular software or product.

In September of 2014 Cisco announced that their ASA 5500 Series Software Release 8.4 would be reaching end of support on March 5th, 2016. This is the last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes for Cisco ASA 5500 Series. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software.

Winxnet and security experts around the globe are recommending that all ASA 5500s running Software versions 6.x to 8.x. migrate to the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Software Adaptive Security Appliance Release 9.1.

As your trusted IT advisor, we want to make sure that you are aware of the upcoming changes with this device and that actions must be taken to remain secure.

There will be many consequences if your company decides not to update:
  1. Security Risks & Vulnerabilities - After March 5th, Cisco engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain or test this software. There will no longer be software maintenance releases or bug fixes for Cisco ASA 5500. If you do not upgrade, security risks and vulnerabilities will no longer be patched or supported.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 Updates
Posted on 9/14/2015 2:13:14 PM by Paul Laskow

Recently Microsoft Dynamics has released new features and upgrades for both Microsoft Dynamics SL and GP. In my previous post, I explained the enhancements that have been made to Microsoft Dynamics SL. To give just a brief overview, the Microsoft Dynamics SL new release included upgrades for financial, reporting, project and web app elements.

Microsoft Dynamics GP is a business accounting or ERP software that is designed to help mid-size businesses gain greater control over their finances, better manage their inventory and make informed decisions that help drive business success.

If you aren't utilizing all that Microsoft Dynamics has to offer, read on to see how you can use this tool and increase the success of your business.

Here is a brief summary of the Microsoft Dynamics GP enhancements:

  1. Foundation Enhancements - The major Foundation Enhancement has been to Service-based architecture. The move to service based architecture provides a better environment for IT managers and systems that are deployed from the cloud. These features include adding new customers, upgrading existing customers to a newer version and reconfiguring existing customers. There was also an identity management enhancement which now enables you to log into your Microsoft Dynamics GP Client user account with your organizational (Active Directory) account.
  2. Financial Enhancements - With the financial enhancements that have been made there has been additional workflow functionality with the GP upgrade. The workflow in the new enhancement defines how a document will flow through the system by showing who must approve it and the conditions under which they must approve it. There have also been intercompany enhancements which makes it now easier to see intercompany transactions to improve efficiency.
  3. Distribution Enhancements - The distribution upgrades now allow users to edit and re-send email messages that contain sales or purchasing documents that have been sent to customers or vendors. Users are also able to edit email addresses and re-send documents that have been sent previously. Additional options have been added to the Payment Terms Setup window that gives greater control over how discount dates and transaction due dates are calculated.
