Winxnet Employee Spotlight – Steve Martel
Often times your technology providers are anonymous names and faces working behind screens or over the phone. Our ‘Employee Spotlight’ series highlights these technical gurus, both inside and outside of the organization, giving you an inside look into the people behind the machines.
This Employee Spotlight will be focused on Steve Martel, the Director of Managed Services at Winxnet. Steve recently joined the Winxnet team and brings 20+ years of IT and Business Management experience. Prior to joining Winxnet, Steve was a Principal- Business Planning & Manager in AT&T’s Managed Services practice. Steve recently opted to leave a large MSP to work for a growth MSP with a small and medium-sized business focus that is headquartered in his hometown.
At Winxnet, Steve is responsible for the overall management of the Managed Services Organization – Service Delivery, Service Management, the Network Operation Center (NOC), Service Desk as well as some Account Management responsibilities.
When asked what he likes best about working at Winxnet, Steve said “Every day brings a new challenge which makes for a dynamic environment and I enjoy providing business value to the customers through IT solutions and services. I am continually learning and looking for new ways to improve Service Delivery which is a key aspect.”
As mobile devices continue to proliferate, Steve predicts that providing services that support the mobile user will bring on challenges to manage the different types of endpoints. He also is anticipated that security will be another IT trend that continues to rise. He anticipates that since perimeter defense with Firewalls cannot provide a 100% secured environment, applications with self-protection designs are surfacing which is leading to new models of security catered to those specific applications.
When not at Winxnet, Steve enjoys traveling with his wife and experiencing different cultures alongside cycling and reading.
