Microsoft 365 bundles Office 365 and Windows 10
Earlier this week, Microsoft unveiled Microsoft 365, a new offering that brings together Office 365, Windows 10 and Enterprise Mobility and Security. Microsoft 365 is the beginning of a fundamental shift in how we will design, build and cater to our customers’ needs in the workplace.
Microsoft is offering two platforms, Microsoft Business 365 and Microsoft Enterprise 365. The differences between the two are in the services provided in each bundle. For example, Microsoft 365 Enterprise users will have access to a version of Windows 10 Enterprise, while Microsoft 365 Business will have access to Windows 10 Professional. Both bundles will have access to Office 365 accounts for their employees along with Enterprise Mobility and Security services.
Microsoft 365 Enterprise is for larger companies and will be available in two plans, Microsoft 365 E3 and Microsoft 365 E5. Both plans will become available for purchase on August 1, 2017. Pricing has yet to be released for the Enterprise version.
Microsoft 365 Business is for small to medium-sized businesses with up to 300 users. Microsoft 365 Business will be priced at $20 per user per month and will be available for public preview starting August 2, 2017.
The workplace environment is transforming and companies are utilizing technology to empower employees, better engage with customers and enhance operations. Microsoft 365 is going to decrease capital expenditures for companies, reiterating the idea that robust infrastructure is slowing going away.
