Winxnet Employee Spotlight – Denevan O’Connell
Earlier this summer, we highlighted Steve Martel, Director of Managed Services at Winxnet, during our ‘Employee Spotlight’ series. Our ‘Employee Spotlight’ series highlights some of our stellar employees, both inside and outside of the organization, giving you an inside look into the people behind the machines.
This Employee Spotlight will be focused on Denevan O’Connell, Senior Vice President with direct management of responsibility of the Massachusetts operations at Winxnet. Denevan is a relatively new member of the Winxnet team and brings years of experience working in the private sector. After graduating from Providence College, Denevan joined the staff of Governor Lincoln Almond in Rhode Island, where he held several progressively responsible positions, with his final position as Director of Legislative Affairs, a senior staff member. Upon leaving the public sector, he worked as the New England Director of Government Affairs for AT&T. In 2007, Denevan founded a management consulting organization, Chalkstone Strategies, which focused on the belief that clients are best served by consultants with deep expertise, laser-sharp focus, and a proven track record of consistently delivering results.
Denevan explained that all of the many different positions he’s held over the years helped shape his career. “In my time before Winxnet I was fortunate to be able to work with clients in the world of government and public relations. I have met and worked with leaders at all levels of government across the entire country. It was a privilege and helped me get him to where I am today.”
When asked what he likes best about working at Winxnet, Denevan said “I thoroughly enjoy the interactions with my co-workers and our clients. I enjoy learning about what our clients do, how technology helps them accomplish their goals and how my co-workers make that happen.”
When not at Winxnet, Denevan enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children. He enjoys bringing his children to girl scouts, horseback riding lessons, or sports team games and practices. He also spends his free time coaching his son’s basketball team.
