Worcester: Third Largest City in New England [Case History]
Because the third largest city in New England did not have a database administrator (DBA) on its IT staff, the municipality needed external support for applications such as dispatch for a large police and fire force running on SQL Server that were having user-interrupting performance problems. As a result, the city partnered with Winxnet to manage its SQL Server environment.
Through ongoing remote DBA work, Winxnet performed a SQL Health Check to evaluate the municipality’s bottlenecks and performance issues, system resource usage, and disaster recovery. Once the performance issues surrounding the city’s applications were identified, Winxnet’s professional SQL staff made recommendations for hardware and software changes to improve the stability of these critical applications.
