As the largest workers' compensation insurer in Maine, MEMIC constantly strives to improve upon the delivery of its applications to ensure that they are highly scalable and secure. Like most IT departments today, the MEMIC IT group focuses on delivering applications that make the most of code re-use practices, making both development and maintenance of their website more efficient. MEMIC selected ASP.NET 2.0 and XML Web Services as the architecture to make that possible. To migrate to these technologies, MEMIC's IT managers knew that they would need to augment their in-house skills to support upcoming projects. MEMIC became a Winxnet Preferred Partner to ensure the presence of expertise and additional staff as needed.
In addition to securing the XML Web Services architecture, Winxnet is developing a reporting platform that incorporates SQL Server Reporting Services into their main agency application. MEMIC's reporting was previously not on demand. The reporting platform now allows the end users to generate PDF reports directly from the application, allowing for more efficient reporting capabilities.
