As the largest workers’ compensation insurer in Maine, MEMIC is always working on ways to deliver its applications in a highly scalable and secure way. Like most IT departments today, the MEMIC IT group is focused on the delivery of applications that make the most of code re-use practices. MEMIC decided on ASP.NET 2.0 and XML Web Services as the architecture to make that possible. Although MEMIC’s IT managers knew that XML web services were the right way to go, they also knew that they would need to augment their in-house skills to support upcoming projects. MEMIC has become a WinXnet Preferred Partner to ensure the presence of expertise and additional staff as needed.
In addition to securing the XML Web Services architecture, WinXnet is also developing a reporting platform that incorporates SQL Server Reporting Services into their main agency application. This allows the end users to generate PDF reports directly from the application.
