Portland, ME (October 29, 2009)- One of Winxnet’s leading Unified Communications specialists, Randy Wintle, recently returned from Washington after providing guidance to Microsoft on their new certification exam for Unified Communications. Randy was one of only eight trusted worldwide advisors asked to provide their real world expertise for the future development of this exam.

“Being asked to provide assistance to Microsoft’s leading experts was a truly humbling experience. I was one of eight worldwide experts on this panel specializing in Microsoft UC technology” said Randy Wintle, Senior Unified Communications Specialist. “We were invited by Microsoft to assist in the development of the new certification exam for this cutting edge technology.”

Microsoft periodically gathers Subject Matter Experts on their technologies to develop the content for their certification exam. The panel discussed the exam topics and the weight and number of questions, all of which are used to determine a passing score. The Microsoft certification exams are built to test technical expertise and are considered a good barometer of technical qualifications.

“The original exam did not cover the fundamental information needed to work with the Microsoft Voice Platform. As a team we reviewed and discussed what we considered vital knowledge for working with the technology and how the test should be used in the hiring process.  As a professional in this field, it’s reassuring to know that Microsoft is really taking the certification process seriously,” said Wintle.

Microsoft has made significant advancements in recent years to become a major player in the telephone industry through the development of Office Communications Server. Through the use of software, Microsoft has consolidated instant messaging, audio and video conferencing, and Internet based telephone communications into one easy to use software based system. As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and a Voice Certified Partner, Winxnet is the leader in implementing Microsoft’s Unified Communications technology throughout New England.
