Winxnet creates integration solution for a medical lab test simulator at Maine’s largest hospital.
MAINE, March 14, 2011 —To apply medical knowledge and acquire clinical experience, medical students and staff use replicas of operating and trauma rooms, actors portraying patients, and sophisticated mannequins that mimic a variety of human conditions. Such is the case at the Hannaford Center for Safety, Innovation and Simulation at Maine Medical Center (MMC). Needing an integration solution for its simulation lab, MMC called on Winxnet to develop a .Net application to process simulated results that replace a lab system.
In its simplest form, this system allows a proctor to provide a simulation to medical doctors taking a test and give instant feedback. Specifically, Winxnet’s application takes requests entered by training physicians in a simulation lab and provides a console for the proctor to view the results. Bruce Cahill, IT analyst for the Hannaford Simulation Center, is pleased with the integration results.
Says Cahill, “We are very happy with the outcomes Winxnet provided. Not only did they deliver a solution to produce simulated results effectively for our lab, but it is highly configurable. And we can easily maintain and update the system ourselves. That’s the sign of a well-thought-through and developed solution.”
Winxnet designed, built, and deployed the solution quickly after investing in a comprehensive, upfront evaluation to establish requirements and deliverables. Winxnet’s CEO Chris Claudio thinks this project validates Winxnet’s reputation for effectively providing integration services around .Net applications to meet clients’ unique needs. “I see this as another example of the overall ability of our talented development staff to successfully execute a solution objective solving a very complex business problem. As we are now undertaking development projects around the world, I am most pleased when we can truly assist a local customer and partner like MMC, especially when it comes to improving quality of care for Mainers .”
