Winxnet partners with Convergent Solutions to deliver SharePoint 2010 to the U.S. Navy.
MAINE, March 1, 2011 — Businesses needing a single, “no-code” platform for setting up Web sites, sharing information, managing documents and projects, searching, and publishing reports have turned to Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The U.S. Navy did and tapped Convergent Solutions and Winxnet to design and implement Microsoft SharePoint 2010.
Virginia-based IT solutions firm Convergent Solutions has a track record of providing high-quality technology solutions and services to the U.S. Navy. They chose to partner with Winxnet on the Navy’s SharePoint 2010 project. Selected for their deep understanding of, and experience with SharePoint, Maine-based Winxnet performed the project discovery, planning, design, and deployment. Winxnet built the solution remotely then deployed it onsite using SharePoint 2010’s scripting capability. This allowed engineers to fine tune and address client questions and needs. Military-level security requirements, effective search capability and establishing permission groups were important features Winxnet met and delivered.
“We are pleased with Winxnet’s role in this deployment,” says David Fay of Convergent Solutions. “Their careful upfront site assessment and in-depth understanding of SharePoint 2010 made for a smooth and quick implementation. They delivered exactly what our client wanted.”
Says Chris Claudio, Winxnet president, “Microsoft SharePoint is such a broad application and can be used to build portals and collaboration, document, and content management sites. We have implemented SharePoint solutions across healthcare, meeting DOD requirements, addressing legal firm needs – you name it. This project perfectly illustrates our strength and versatility in this arena.”
